International Multilateral Partnership Against Cyber Terrorism (IMPACT), a not-for-profit global public-private partnership against cyber threats is the cybersecurity executing arm of the United Nations’ specialized agency – the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).
IMPACT is one of the means of organization in which is being established for the purpose of maintaining the safety of cyber security.
IMPACT was unveiled in Austin, Texas and Malaysia took the initiative to bring together governments and international private sector to combat the threats in the cyber space.
IMPACT will focus on three key areas; (i) security certification, (ii) research and development, and (iii) establishing a global emergency response center. The Head-Quarter is based in Cyberjaya, Malaysia at the heart of MSC Malaysia which was launched on the 20th March 2009.
Among the services provided under IMPACT are as Global Response Center, Centre for Policy & International Cooperation, Centre for Training & Skills Development, and as Centre for Security Assurance & Research.
